Southwest

The Southwest is not an empty, expansive desert. It is a vast, open-air gallery of organic and geological architecture. This work moves away from typical warm landscape vistas to focus on the heavy, silent monuments that anchor the desert floor.

From the towering, sculptural presence of the standalone Saguaro to the deep, velvet darkness of the ridgelines, these images interrogate the relationship between raw mass and harsh, direct light. The monumental sandstone structures of Sedona are captured as active studies in geological erosion, while the soft, atmospheric transition of Desert Pastels reveals the horizon collapsing into a singular tonal gradient. It is a portrait of the desert defined by structural weight, deep shadows, and monumental permanence.
